Celiac Disease or Gluten Intolerance as its more commonly known, is slowly becoming more common in the modern world we live in. Weight gain and celiac disease are not something that goes together, with weight loss being one of the key factors of having Celiac Disease. Have you been recently diagnosed with Gluten Intolerance, and struggling with piling on the pounds? Let me show you some simple tips that you can apply to your diet, to help you lose those extra pounds.

I mentioned above that weight gain and celiac disease are not commonly associated with each other, but that does not mean that it is not a problem for many people. It is true that around 99% of people will see a dramatic loss in their weight, almost overnight and this can have a confound change to their day-to-day lives.

Weight Gain and Celiac Disease. So why am I piling on the pounds?

I will try to explain this quickly and easily. It is important to know why you might be gaining weight, so that you can go forward in your new lifestyle to get rid of that extra weight. When you change your diet to Gluten Free products, many of these do not have the amount of nutrients and vitamins that your body needs to work properly, and this is an obvious problem. You can become tired, lethargic and feel unwell. No movement or exercise will mean you are not burning off those calories, and you gain weight.

One of the other reasons, and the main one in many sufferers, is your bodies sudden change to more high fat content foods. Many people think that because a food is gluten-free, it's also low in fat, and this is not the case. Always read the labels on the food you buy in supermarkets. Many pre packed gluten-free foods in your local supermarket, may not be as healthy as you think, but that does not mean some of them are not good for you. Foods free from gluten are just like every other branded food, just read the labels first.

There are many connections between weight gain and Celiac disease, probably more than you think. Lets look at some simple and quick tips to help you lose weight if you are Gluten Intolerant.

1. Just because you are eating foods free from gluten, do not think you do not have to do anything else. Like most diets, you have to burn more calories than you are consuming. Adding more exercise to your daily routine will boost weight loss.

2. A great way of boosting weight loss is to eat more fruit. Fresh fruit and dried fruit are all gluten-free, and more healthy and energy boosting than many quick snack foods.

3. Fruit Juice is great for the body, and an energy booster too. Drink fresh fruit juices instead of Coffee and Tea. A couple of herbal teas may contain gluten, so check first.

We have looked at weight gain and Celiac disease, and a couple of great tips to boost weight loss. What you need now is a comprehensive handbook which puts all of the above in a plan, to help you understand how to make your daily routine a whole lot easier.
