Shepherd’s Pie (a kick ass recipe video)

Ben Millet inspired me to make a recipe video. You should make one too!

Shepherd’s Pie – (Makes 2 nine inch pie pans)

2 pounds of lean ground beef
1 cup of chopped onions
2 12 ounce jars of beef gravy
2 teaspoons of worcestershire sauce
2 cups of cooked peas
4 cups of mashed potatoes
2 tablespoons of butter
1 cup of sour cream
1 cup of cheddar cheese (more if you like a lot of cheese like me!)
2 9″pie pans

Heat oven to 350 degrees

Cook ground beef and onion in medium skillet over medium-high heat until the meat is browned and onion is tender, about five minutes. Drain beef mixture and return to the skillet.

Add beef gravy, worcestershire and peas to the skillet and simmer on medium-low heat for two minutes.

Meanwhile, combine prepared mashed potatoes with butter and sour cream.

Pour meat mixture into 2 9″ pie pans (I used two 8″ square pans in this video). Spread mashed potatoes over the meat mixture and top with the grated cheese.

Bake for 30 minutes until heated through.

This recipe is way better if you use pie crusts! I didn’t have any at the time of making this video. 🙁
