The governments new U.S. dietary guidelines turned out to be favorable for consumers and farmers. They included lean meat as part of a healthy diet and promoted nutrient dense and protein rich foods like low fat dairy products, soybeans and even eggs. Plus the guidelines were not based on sustainability. Michelle Rook looks at why this is positive for consumers and the entire agricultural industry.
